She is keen to upskill herself.
She is 34 years old, unmarried.
She is happy with her work and is doing well as a Business Development Manager.
Given her position at work, she is afraid to take a break from work to pursue higher education.
She dreams of studying abroad in a prestigious school, hence online courses are not her first option.
What would you recommend to Victoria?

career counselling voiceofvipinVictoria has a host of options that she can choose which can offer her a blend of education and retain her current job. We often feel comfortable and happy with our career trajectory. She needs to ask herself, what is her objective behind up-skilling and what does she want as an outcome, this will help choose her options better. Evening classes, sabbatical, working remotely are a few options available to her.
Victoria is happy with the profile and doing well in that position.
She should take permission from ger present comoang for pursuing course nd apply for the same fkr some abroad country dependjng upon her financial capability and take NOC from her presnt company for specific period relvamt for the ckurse and start upgrading herself
I would like to speak with Victoria one on one before I give her any advice on her career. I would like to know her and her aspirations her dreams before I am able to create the best path for her career and life. It s a very important crossroad in her life and has to be take very seriously.
I recommend professionals career counselling for Victoria. As she has good work experience and wishes to upskill herself, she can definitely upgrade with courses.
Looking at the current scenario she must not give up her job yet unless she chooses a better career path. but at the same time she is independant so she can explore and upgrade her skills through learning avenues.
Highly recommend career counselling for Victoria.
As mentioned Victoria is seemingly happy with her career which goes to say she would like to upskill herself with courses which will add to her already satisfying job.
Intrestingly ,she wants to study abroad, I would iterate upon the advantages of doing online courses ,specially considering Covid situation.Though she does not seem to to be interested in online courses but I personally with my experience can say that the online courses have served as boon in these tough times .She can visit an career expert to help her explore the online possibilities.
If thats not her calling ,she can probably request a break in job for a year or so and thereafter pursue her dreams of studying abroad.
Some of the recommended courses for her could be M.Sc in innovation (London school),M.Sc in management ,Entrepreneurship management ....the list can be many .
The query Victoria has put is mostly put by employees who are feeling the need for brushing up their skills at a time when new lot of employee gets recruited. The change in technology keeps employees at tenterhooks.Employee upskilling is too common .One has to adress the situation by discussing with senior managers or staff. Sometimes there are projects based on upskilling employees and training the freshers. One must keep on working on refresher courses. If one has to do something exclusive .The employee can take a half pay or no pay leave too.
